Lt Gen Nigar Johar becomes first woman colonel commandant of Pakistan Army



Lieutenant General Nigar Johar has been designated the Colonel Commandant of the Army Medical Corps (AMC).

As per the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), she is the First lady official to be named to the position. 

The military’s media wing said in an explanation that Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa stuck the identifications of the new position on Lt Gen Johar's uniform during a function at the AMC Center to officially introduce her to the new post. 

Tending to the function, Gen Bajwa said that arrangement of Lt Gen Johar as the first lady armed force official to have three stars on her uniform is "to be sure, a question of massive pride for Pakistan Army and the country". 

Gen Bajwa additionally commended AMC's commitment in guaranteeing exclusive requirements of medical services in the midst of harmony and war.
